Remember… Patents are MOSTLY "Improvements" on other inventions.. So, while you may see something SIMILAR to your inventive idea it does not mean that you cannot patent your IMPROVEMENT.. Example… A tire is an IMPROVEMENT on a wagon wheel. A radial biased ply tire is an IMPROVEMENT on a non radial biased tire. There are over 10,000 patents on tires… Nearly every single one is an improvement!

Or that 27" as a computer monitor, was bigger than the 19" 4:3 monitor it replaced, although, it was not really higher resolution (1280×720 27" vs 1280×1024 19"). A 32" 1080p is bigger and higher resolution.

But if you are laying odds to Place, that is a losing proposition over time. Just from my own statistical analysis on U.S. tracks I can tell you that odds-on Favourites come in at least third 90% of the time. In most larger fields (as would be typical in the UK rather than in some U.S. tracks) it is the horses with the lowest odds at race-time plus those that are the heaviest underlays (or are bet the most) that generally outperform. Of course keeping an even bet is the only way to go, as by risking a larger bet at the wrong time could destroy the profits from several past successful bets.

My analysis is predicated on the horse being odds-on at Post time and not by the line before race-time; that is because if the odds go up the horse is much less likely to win, unlike longshots when a lot of unexpected things can happen and consequently a lot of longshots can win after they have been neglected by the public – especially sweet to your system when they just edge out that odds-on Favourite!

not really necessary to run the AC at the same time as the swamp cooler – in a way, defying the purpose of having a swamp cooler in the first place. The AC will be far more expensive to run than the swamp cooler. All swamp coolers are made to cover a amount of square footage. If not sure how much yours handles, then just get a good idea of size (maybe measure it) then go to the hardware store and check out ones for sale there that are the same size. If big enough to cover the of the house you are most concerned with, then you need to get a second swamp cooler.

When using a swamp cooler, to have a window open somewhere else in the house. Many people know this, and your swamp cooler will be far more effective if you do this. It have to be much or all the way open. The most ideal window to leave open is one that is the away from the cooler, on the other side of the house, where the air is warmest. The purpose of this is that the swamp cooler is sucking in air from outside and forcing it into the house. The pressure that results from the cooler sucking in air and blowing it into the house also forces air out of the open window on the other side of the house, where the air is not so warm. Remember the saying "Nature abhors a vaccuum". Using this to your advantage and playing tricks with the air movement can really save you alot of money and really cool off the house without much You can also use oscillating fans to help the air move around through areas that might not get alot of airflow naturally, like rooms off to the side or out of the way of the cooler.

As far as the cat(s), I have never heard of a swamp cooler being able to "filter" the air inside the house. It filters the air coming in from outside, as it passes through the excelsior pads, but does nothing to filter already in the house. If you are allergic to the cats, you may want to buy an ionizing/HEPA filter for your room(s). They attract allergents in the air like dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander, and all you have to do is clean the ionizer once or twice a month… be surprised how much crap is in the air once you using it and have to clean it!

The D90 is a fine camera, all the options a beginner serious about photography will need. video feature is rather weak. so affordable you could easily get it with the 18-105 and still have money left to put towards an extra lens or flash

D7000 has a few more features, somewhat more dynamic range, a stop more useable high iso iso3200 will look as good as the iso1600). The only area where it massively outclasses the D90 is on video.

I can see the point of it if these people run their own stores. Small corner stores could save money and make more doing this.
I get the point of the guy who made a cereal box tower in his driveway though…

To be honest though, a lot of those things will last a lot longer than indicated by the best before date as long as they un-opened and stored properly. The cereal might go stale, but if you open the bag it probably actually go bad for months.

These deals are often found on great items like soap and toothpaste which go bad. You can stock up.

EDIT- About the guy with the cereal. He just did that to be funny he donated all that cereal to his church or a food pantry. I remember which one.
