Wisner Community Development has established several committees to carry out the organization's mission and goals.  The committees  meet monthly to take action and work for the betterment and advancement of the community.


New business recruitment and existing business retention
Members: Craig Schmidt, Jeff Phillips, Heather Kneifl

· Active recruitment of business to locate in the area

· Encouragement of expansion of existing businesses

· Identification and development of start-up businesses in the area

Government and public relations
Members:  Ted Huettmann, Gary Bellar, Curt Liermann, Heather Kneifl

· Make board aware of legislative matters on the local , state and national levels that will affect the organization

· Hold Legislative Day each spring, visiting with Legislators on the local, state and national levels

· Keep lines of communication open and active with the publics affected by the organization

· Attend functions hosed by local, state and national legislators

Fundraising
Members:  Tom Feller, Steve Ausdemore, Bill Miner, Heather Kneifl

· Develop and implement a triennial funding campaign to as to maintain a 3-year projected budget operating balance

· To establish and maintain specific funds as approved by the Board of Directors

· Continually seek additional funding sources

Real Estate
Members:  Richard Schultz, Heather Kneifl

· Acquire property which enhances the business, industrial and residential growth of the area

· Review available property areas and their zoned uses which exist in all communities

· Review and propose areas of potential expansion.

Beautification
Members:  Larry Bockelman, Bev McClure, Fran Schweers, Cindy Eggers, Marj Bellar, Dianne Dixon, Sharon Breitkreutz, Judy Feller, Ken Duncan, Lucy Streeter, Matt Albers, Russ Nissen

· Take steps to improve properties that are poor in appearance

· Develop a downtown theme and improve appearance of downtown

Retirement
Members:  Russ Breitkreutz, Mary Miner, Jody Woldt, Joni Bellar, Heather Kneifl, Ken Duncan

· Attract six retirees in the next 12 months to make a home in the Wisner, Nebraska area

Housing

· Complete a community housing study

· Develop incentives for new housing construction

· Offer rehabilitation program for existing homeowners

· Increase speculative home construction

· Develop the availability of rental properties

Tourism     
Members:  Curt Liermann, Lois Anderson, Karen Palmer, Kim Ramsey

· Assist in the promotion of community events

                    · Assist in the creation of tourism events

                    · Write quarterly articles which promote the Wisner area for media sources
